Very considerate. :)

Can I just point out right now that I am in no way a regular viewer of Coronation Street?
I am.
I know it's rubbish, but i suppose you could class it as a guilty pleasure.

It's not as good as it was in the 70's though! :P
Granted it was better years ago. My grandparents had good memories of it as it was in the 1960s.

My parent stopped watching the soaps about 3 or 4 years ago. The last thing they gave up on was Enemadale. The first Eastenders.

It's just Corrie for me.
No time for the others. (I have a particular loathing for Eastenders)

Unless you count Prisoner: Cell Block H.

I could never get into the British soaps when I was there. I have a guilty love for the old 80s Aussie soaps. They're all utter shit now, of course.

Neighbours burns my eyes out... is australia actually that colourful? Everyone wears neon colours and lives in houses full of neon things

Nah, I think that it's because most British drama is filmed in a type of gloom-o-vision.

Watch The Ipcress File for one of the earliest examples of this 'gloom' effect in British film and TV.

I own this:

along with the accompanying 70's and 80's box sets. Image

Although in mitigation, they were dirt cheap in the Network sale. £15 for each 10 disc set. 85% off.

Elsie Tanner rocks! 8-)
