Ha, you're running my feet there, Bernard. I was just about to go back and edit my post to mention, as a caveat, that I wasn't necessarily looking forward to the one-two punch of Logopolis/ Castrovalva (we'll see when I get there, though) but, yes, I think that 18 is an excellent season overall and Bidmead did work of which he can be justifiably proud. Unlike some people we could mentiion...

Also, I'm badly overdue a rewatch of Frontios. I've only ever seen it once, but I recall being impressed by it at the time.
I think both stories have good ideas at their core- they’re just hindered by poor realisation and generally uneven direction.

I’ve never been a massive fan of Frontios myself, but it’s fairly good all told. Not seen it for years, though.
I'm inclined to agree. Mind you, I'd rather watch Bidmead's stuff on a 24 hour loop with my eyelids taped back than ever sit through Let's Kill Hitler again. Jesus...

Coming from someone who recently rewatched it, I confirm this is the right call.

Fun fact, Bidmead's only story for Big Finish (Renaissance of the Daleks) caused so much of an issue in the script editing process, Bidmead demanded his name be removed from it as author. That is why it says on the box "from a story by", not "by".

Yeah, he is a bit of a precious writer.

Every word has to be hand chiselled into a stone tablet before a script is finished.

Not sure if you heard it Rob, but it was an absolute cluster fuck. Some of the character performances were borderline racial stereotypes. It was such a flop, they tried to give copies away with Doctor Who Adventures Magazine.

If that had been my introduction to BF, I'd never have bought a single CD.

No, don't think I heard that one.

The only DWM giveaway I heard was 8th Doctor story "Living Legend" which I liked.

As I said, it's going to be one of the last 3 titles of the monthly range.
This is wrong, the last release is 275, this is no. 267. Stand down soldier.

Frankly, regardless of this, BF have been ropey for years. I'm not overly surprised/bothered by this.
Whenever I go on the BF site these days I just see a sea of titles with a billion variants and options and it just washes over me, so I close the browser window and go off to watch some porn or something instead where available options are much easier to choose and distinguish.
This explains Rob's obsession with the sexual first Doctor :D :D :D :D

As funny as that response is, I’m still waiting for a good defence of the First Doctor’s characterisation in that story.
